He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Simon Peter said in reply, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Matthew 16:15-16

Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: See! I will bring spirit into you, that you may come to life. I will put sinews upon you, make flesh grow over you, cover you with skin, and put spirit in you so that you may come to life and know that I am the LORD. Ezekiel 37:4-6

The greatest blessing of a Catholic school is the opportunity to attend Mass as a school community, and we had our first all-school mass today! We are grateful for the blessing of our three priests: Father Stephen, Father Joel, and Father Salvador! We learned about the theme of friendship from the example of St. Maximilian Kolbe. St. Maximilian Kolbe, pray for us!

👧🏻 Did you know we're trying something different during our special area classes? 👦🏻 Students in grades 4-8 are attending Spanish, Art, PE and library split by gender, and it's working out so great! These are 7/8 grade boys in Spanish class using games as they practice their Spanish-English vocabulary.

❤️ Today was retreat day! ❤️ We are so grateful that we received a retreat about our theme, "All in. All together. Con todo. Todos juntos.," from Father Mauricio Carrasco at McDonald Hall at the Cathedral of St. Andrew. We participated in Mass together and then took a tour of the Cathedral with wonderful docents. ❤️ These superhero teachers are loved by God and are ready to share God's love with your children! ❤️

✝️ We are so excited to bring back our House System! ✝️ These saints exhibit values that have deep meaning for our community. Blessed Stanley ministered to the people of Guatemala and did not run from danger. St. Francis of Assisi chose a life of poverty and preaching, with a special love for animals. St. Kateri Tekakwitha converted to the faith while still maintaining the culture of her Native people. St. Frances Xavier Cabrini was an Italian immigrant to the US and is now the patron saint of immigrants. In addition to the four Houses listed below, we will have the Little Flower House for those PK students and families without siblings in other grades. All families will be sorted into Houses on August 11. Our parent leaders for the Houses are: Rother House - Karla Robles Assisi House - Kari Vicente Tekakwitha House - Claudia Frausto Cabrini House - Rocio Moreno

📘Teachers spent time this morning learning: - what it is like to be an English Language Learner - how brain development is affected by screen time - what engaging lesarning experiences can look like 🥰 And we heard from Eduardo and Maria Martinez, who shared the story of the impact of St. Theresa Catholic Church and School on their family. Keep praying for these super teachers who are working hard!
