We were grateful to Premium Martial Arts for coming out to visit PK-3rd grade today! We learned about respect, using our voice, and some basic moves.

Romans 5:5 As we approach the one year anniversary of the passing of Alexa Hernandez-Espinoza, we want to announce two ways we will honor her memory and invite you to be a part. For the school community, on April 9, we will have a Lilo and Stitch-themed Alexa Day. More information will be distributed to school families. We are also happy to share that we will dedicate a memorial bench on the playground in honor of Alexa. We hope to create a peaceful, prayerful memorial garden space, and everyone is invited to financially contribute to this project. Everyone is invited to attend Mass on May 1 at 8:30 am and join us following Mass for the bench dedication with Bishop Anthony B. Taylor. Alexa's mom shared that Alexa liked to bring ladybugs home from school. 🐞 As a way to honor this beautiful memory, students will paint ladybug stones that will surround the bench. There is a beautiful story that the ladybug gets its name because the insect appeared after villagers prayed for Mary's intercession during a time of pests destroying crops. The villagers called the red, spotted bugs "Our Lady's Beetle," which has been shortened to Ladybug. Students will reflect on our Blessed Mother and her close connection to us as they work on this project to accompany Alexa's bench. We know our Blessed Mother is taking care of Alexa now, until we see her again. We love you, Alexa. 💜

St. Theresa School has the absolute BEST specialty area teachers! Mrs. Yancey, Ms. Rivera, Coach Mo, and Mrs. Hughes were the invited speakers for today's faculty meeting and, as expected, they were amazing. Key takeaways from the Cougar Circus: 1. Communication is key to collaboration. 2. God is the key collaborator. 3. Asking for help does not make you weak. We are filled with joy after being with these ladies!

We are so excited to start sharing some of the good news from our most recent round of MAP testing! Like all Catholic elementary schools in the Diocese of Little Rock, St. Theresa School administers MAP tests three times annually. Our kindergarten achievement in Math is something worth celebrating! We are blessed with dedicated teachers - Mrs. Chua and Miss Stehle - and hard-working, joyful kindergarten students! Way to GROW, Cougars!

This Lent, our first grade classes have committed to some acts of service. This week, they prepared and packed 250 sandwiches for The Van's outreach programs. 💜

We were so happy that Nicko represented St Theresa at the Pulaski County Spelling Bee on Saturday! And so proud that his good buddy came to support him!

k-3 students enjoyed a visit on Monday with Cathy Melvin, a local author of Cypress Knees and Tupelo Trees. Books and finger puppets can still be ordered until Thursday. Order forms will be sent home again Tuesday. Orders should go to Mrs. Yancey in the library.

The Stations of the Cross are one of the oldest prayers of the Church. A way to remember Jesus’ sacrifice. A way to be with Jesus. A way to pray for each other as we bear our own crosses. St. Theresa Catholic School has always gathered to pray the Stations each Lent. We are grateful this year for a new way, with our Living Stations of the Cross developed by Mrs. Storey and implemented by Ms. Strojek and our 8th grade class. Our first grade classes completed a service project of creating treat bags for nursing home residents for Valentines Day! ❤️

What a Friday! Fourth grade bake sale this morning! Approximately $100 was raised for a local animal shelter! Lots of fun Valentines and neon outfits for our Valentine exchange and Glow and Grow dance parties this afternoon! And the sweetest community making Mrs. Dunn feel special on her birthday! God is so, so good. St. Theresa Church and School is the best place to be.
