I found myself exclaiming at all the children dressed as saints, “Oh my gosh, you’re so cute!” And it’s true. Our kids are the cutest. But my word choice wasn’t 100% accurate.
Saints are so much more than “cute.”
Our patroness, Thérèse of Lisieux, was on fire with love for the Lord and is a Doctor of the Church because of the depth of meaning in her writing.
Blessed Stanley Rother was a humble farmer who followed the Lord’s call to the priesthood, in which he ministered with great love to the people of Guatemala until his death as a martyr.
Elizabeth Ann Seton had a passion for education and opened the first Catholic school in the USA.
Damien of Molokai served in Hawaii at a lepers’ colony, serving the people so closely he himself contracted the disease.
The saints of the Catholic Church are strong, brave, and devoted to our Lord Jesus Christ. It is our goal to partner with parents so that the students we serve today become saints in the future.
All Holy Men and Women - please pray for the students, staff and families of St. Theresa School. Bring intercession prayers for us to be strong, brave and devoted like you.
Amen.
